SLRD YesEarth initiates Guardians of the Green: 100 million Trees Program

Guardians of the Green is a flagship movement by SLRD–YesEarth aimed at planting and sustaining 100 million native trees by 2030 across India. More than a tree plantation drive, it’s a transformative mission for climate action, biodiversity restoration, and green livelihoods.

By engaging Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Self-Help Groups (SHGs), tribal youth, and local communities, it ensures grassroots ownership and long-term care. The initiative emphasizes native species, geo-tagged planting, survival tracking, and carbon sequestration through verified standards like Verra and Gold Standard.

With digital dashboards, real-time transparency, and partnerships with top institutions like IITs and State Agricultural Universities, the program integrates technology, ecology, and community. Every contribution supports a sapling’s full life cycle — from nursery to 3 years of care — creating employment, restoring degraded lands, and building climate resilience. Guardians of the Green calls individuals, corporates, and governments to be part of a greener, more sustainable future.
