Strengthening Partnerships for a Climate-Resilient and Sustainable Nagaland

· 2 min read

June 2025 | Nagaland, India

A meaningful and action-driven visit to Nagaland marked a significant milestone in our ongoing mission to support sustainable development and climate resilience in the region.

Abhijit Sharma, Mission Director of SLRD–YesEarth, participated in key engagements that reinforced the shared vision of building a greener and more resilient Nagaland.
Mr. B. Limanuksung Longkumer, State Director, was also present at the event, contributing to the discussions and strengthening the collaborative spirit of the occasion.

The delegation had the privilege of meeting Hon’ble Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Shri Sharingain Longkumer, whose inspiring vision for a climate- and disaster-resilient Nagaland reflects a deep commitment to the state’s sustainable future. His proactive leadership is pivotal in aligning policy, governance, and environmental stewardship.

The team also had the honour of interacting with Smt. Salhoutuonuo Kruse, Hon’ble Minister of Horticulture, Nagaland, whose steadfast focus on sustainable agriculture, value addition, and rural prosperity is laying the groundwork for lasting change. Her emphasis on enhancing farmer incomes and building resilient rural livelihoods strongly resonates with the goals of SLRD.

These interactions have paved the way for stronger collaboration in areas such as climate-smart agriculture, capacity building, and community-based resilience planning.

SLRD – YesEarth remains committed to supporting Nagaland’s journey towards inclusive, sustainable growth—empowering communities, safeguarding ecosystems, and addressing the pressing challenges of climate change and disaster risk.

This visit reaffirms the importance of partnerships and shared purpose in transforming vision into meaningful action.
