YesEarth Environment Awareness and Climate Clock Assembly with NCC Mizoram

Aizawl, February 13, 2024 — YesEarth Youth Corps, a trailblazer in environmental advocacy, proudly announces the successful completion of Environment Awareness and Climate Clock assembly event at Shillong, bringing together students from 10 educational institutions from Mizoram. This groundbreaking initiative showcased the power of youth engagement and their collective commitment to addressing climate change.

State Training Centre, Aizawl on February 13, 2024, the event marked a historic collaboration between YesEarth Youth Corps and NCC Cadets from diverse academic backgrounds, uniting them in a shared mission to raise awareness about the pressing climate issues facing the region.

The event was graced by Chief Guest Pu Lalthansanga, Honorable Minister of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Lt Col. Clement Lalhmingthanga, MLA, Champhai South, Shri Ashok Kumar Biswal, (IFS) Principal Conservator of Forests, Mizoram. Shri Kamal Preet (IFS) Add. Principal Conservator of Forests, Mizoram, Prof. Lalnundanga, Registrar, Mizoram University, Shri Lalnunhlua, Director – Sports and Youth Service Department, Mizoram, Col S.S. Kalia, CO1 Mizo Bn, Silchar NCC Group and Col. Aman Chaudhary.

It was incredible to see the enthusiasm and engagement of over 200 NCC Cadets in learning about environmental issues and taking steps towards a greener future.

The most pressing issues we are facing are erratic events due to climate change and this can only be addressed by working together. Hence, our priority is to heal our “One Earth”, bring peace to our “One Family,” and inspire sustainability for our “One Future”. Climate change is one of the biggest problems we have, and it can only be solved if everyone works together.

Chief Guest Pu Lalthansanga, Honorable Minister of Environment, Forests and Climate Change apreciated the efforts of YesEarth Youth Corps and NCC to organise the program. He asked the NCC Cadets to act now for a sustainable future. He stated “Your choices today shape tomorrow’s climate, let’s unite for a greener planet and secure tomorrow’s world together.”

YesEarth Youth Corps with support of Energy Swaraj Foundation and in association with National Cader Corps (NCC) organised this event.

More than 200 Cadets from participating educational institutions got an opportunity to assemble the climate clock which they can take back and proudly display in the premises of the organization after the event.
