YesEarth Youth Corps Organises River Cleaning Drive at Shillong

River Cleaning Drive on Umsyrpi river, Shillong organised by YesEarth Youth Corps

In a remarkable demonstration of community spirit and environmental responsibility, YesEarth Youth Corps celebrates the successful completion of a comprehensive river cleaning drive on Umsyrpi river, Shillong on September 30, 2023. This initiative, organised by YesEarth Youth Corps, in association with Rotary Club Shillong Heritage, National Cadet Corps (NCC), Rotary District 3240 and Shillong Municipal Board, has yielded transformative results in revitalizing our beloved Umsyrpi river.

The river cleaning drive, marks a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to preserving and restoring the natural beauty of our city. The concerted efforts of YesEarth, NCC Cadets, Rotary Club members and individuals made a tremendous impact on our local environment.

Smt. R.M. Kurba, Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills expressed gratitude for the collective effort, stating, “This river cleaning drive exemplifies the power of community collaboration. Our city’s commitment to preserving our natural resources remains unwavering. The successful results of this initiative not only benefit us today but also ensure a cleaner, healthier environment for future generations.”

Abhijit Sharma, YesEarth Youth Corps, Mission Director, added, “We are immensely proud of what we’ve achieved together.
